Research Colloquium on Intercultural Theology and Ecumenical Studies

The Research Colloquium is targeted at providing researchers and advanced students at the University of Bonn the opportunity of interpreting texts in theology and the study of religion in a community where the author is a participant. With particular attention to texts that focus on ecumenical and intercultural theologies, the Colloquium creates a context for both internal, analytic and external, comparative textual analysis. From a broader perspective it constitutes part of G_NET, which has the ambition of integrating Intercultural Theology and Religious Studies into the profile of the Faculty.

In advancement of the objectives of the G_NET, the Colloquium is to develop and foster international collaborations that explore transcultural socio-hermeneutical paradigms of theological research and education. Texts for the Colloquium, which are distributed for reading in advance, are selected from a wide range of excellent scholars across the globe, whose diverse cultural and confessional backgrounds further enrich the ecumenical and intercultural content of the activities of the Research Colloquium. As such, the Colloquium serves as a space for both learning and encounter; a praxis-oriented approach to theological education. The inaugural track of the Colloquium is to run once a month (third Wednesdays of every month) in the summer semester of 2020-2021 academic year.
