The city of Bonn lies on the banks of the Rhine River, in the heart the Rhineland.  It belongs to the state of North-Rhine Westphalia and has a population of around 300,000. It is the birthplace of Beethoven, the former capital (before the historic reunification of Germany), and the German home of the United Nations. This combination of history, culture, and globalization makes Bonn a vibrant city full of life and activity: an ideal place to pursue one’s studies.

The Protestant Theological Faculty is located in the historic main building (formerly a palace residence) in the city center.
