Report on the conference: Authority and "soft power" in Judaism and Christianity

The conference "Authority and 'soft power' in Judaism and Christianity" took place from February 26 to 28, 2024 at the Arbeitnehmer-Zentrum Königswinter. It was organized by the "Theological Forum Judaism - Christianity" in cooperation with the "Center for Religion and Society" (ZERG) and the "Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies" (BCDSS). The conference was moderated by the members of the Theological Forum (Proff. Rainer Kampling, Free University of Berlin; Wolfram Kinzig, Bonn; Clemens Leonhard, Münster; Susanne Talabardon, Bamberg).

From June 5th to 7th, 2024, David Hamidovic will come to the faculty in Bonn.

DFG Project at the University of Bonn: The Gospel according to John and Ancient Greek Philosophy.

The expert committee for theology at the DFG has approved the continuation of the third-party funded project for the research on the relationship of the Gospel of John to ancient Greek philosophy at the Protestant Theological Faculty (ETF) of the University of Bonn. The previous results of the examination of the long speeches of Jesus in John 1-12 from a history of philosophy and rhetorical perspective were successfully evaluated positively through a blind peer review and will soon be published in the form of a monograph.
