G_NET
The Global Network for Excellence in Theology (G_NET) in Bonn is a project being developed by Dr. Matthew Ryan Robinson supporting co-operations among scholars working on topics in Intercultural Theology, Ecumenism, and Religious Studies.
The need to analyze the influence of religion on social response-abilities in negotiating transcultural pressures calls for innovative co-operations between scholars of religion and theology in Europe and in countries in the majority world and "Global South".
Research on religion throughout the majority world remains underrepresented in European research on religion and theology. This is due in part to differing institutional locations of religion in scientific and civil society contexts between Europe and regions of the Global South. The recognition of the RFW University Bonn as an Excellence University has provided new opportunities for addressing these research needs and institutional challenges with innovative transdisciplinary and transcultural approaches. G_NET in Bonn seeks to coordinate international partnerships around three distinct "Action Areas" and the "Problem Fields" identified at their points of overlap.
