Research Assistant
Reverend Maik-Andres Schwarz, M.A., has been a research assistant at the Chair of Practical Theology since 2024. His current research focus lies at the intersection of digital religion, pastoral theology, and ecclesial theory.
Religious Apps as Pastoral Assistance
Since 2024, Maik-Andres Schwarz has been pursuing his doctorate within the research project “Religious Apps as Pastoral Assistance,” which is funded by the EKD Digital Innovation Fund. The project examines how religious apps are used within the church and whether they can function as forms of pastoral assistance.

- 2021 to 2024 Vicariate with completion of the 2nd theological service examination of the Protestant Regional Church of Württemberg.
- 2021 1st theological service examination / graduate theologian in Tübingen.

- 2019 Master of Arts in Religious Studies (King's College London / UK), and award of the Shelford MA Prize.
- 2014 to 2021 Studied Protestant Theology in Tübingen, Greifswald and London.
