A new parent-child room has recently been opened. Students and employees can use the room at Rabinstraße 8 if there are gaps in childcare. Effective immediately. ‘The rooms are a relief for many parents because working with a child on campus is now possible,’ says Karin Kick, Head of the Family Office. This feedback comes in regularly.

For this reason, the Faculty of Protestant Theology, the Faculty of Catholic Theology and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities have also campaigned for the establishment of a parent-child room in Rabinstraße and jointly manage it. The room is located on the ground floor (atrium), to the right of the cafeteria and can be reserved online via the booking tool using your Uni-ID. If you need a room spontaneously, simply ask at the information desk in the atrium. You will receive the key there.

The rooms are a nursery and workplace in one: in addition to the desk, there are quiet areas and plenty of toys and books. Changing facilities are available either in the room itself or nearby. The colourful furniture and the brightness of the rooms create a feel-good atmosphere. "The rooms are simply beautiful. Everyone who has been there is delighted," beams Karin Kick.

The Family Office actively supports institutes and faculties in setting up parent-child rooms and finding suitable babysitters. It works closely with the Rectorate and the Central Equal Opportunities Officer - for a better work-life balance.
