The cruel terrorist attack on the State of Israel since 7 October 2023 have left us, the members of the Protestant Theological Faculty of the University of Bonn, horrified and speechless.
We mourn for and our thoughts go out to the victims of these unjustifiable criminal acts and all those affected by them.
We are gravely concerned about the existence and security of the State of Israel and state unequivocally: The existence and security of the State of Israel must not be allowed to be endangered by anyone through words or deeds.
We feel connected more strongly than ever to our Israeli partner institutions and our Israeli and Jewish colleagues worldwide and assure them: The Faculty of Protestant Theology at the University of Bonn stands firmly by their side.
We condemn in the strongest possible terms all anti-Semitic voices and actions in Germany and around the world, and we commit ourselves to working with the utmost vigour to put a stop to hostility towards Jews.
