Praisemon Thevan Vijayaprakash

Praisemon Thevan Vijayaprakash is a doctoral researcher at the Chair of Practical Theology under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sabrina Müller, Faculty of Protestant Theology, University of Bonn. His research investigates how ecclesial life is practiced, interpreted, and negotiated within Protestant church contexts in India, with particular attention to the experiences and voices of Dalit Christians. 

The project explores how everyday ecclesial practices, including worship, leadership, pastoral care, participation, and communal belonging are shaped, experienced, and interpreted within Protestant church communities in India. Methodologically, the study employs Participatory Action Research (PAR), emphasizing collaborative inquiry, dialogue, and contextual theological reflection with participants. His research contributes to contemporary discussions in empirical ecclesiology, lived religion and theology, and contextual theology, particularly concerning the relationship between ecclesial praxis, social location, and theological meaning-making in caste-affected contexts.
