The successful candidate is a prominent individual of international visibility who is committed to both teaching and academic self-governance and is interested in contributing ideas and further developing theology in collaboration with us and is prepared to take intellectual risks.
We are looking for a personality with the following profile:
- a proven capability and readiness to teach in all offered degree programs, in English and in German, and within the framework of the existing cooperation agreement with the University of Cologne; the submission of a teaching concept and meaningful, current teaching evaluations are expected;
- a high-profile research focus in the field of ancient Christianity (documented);
- an additional innovative research focus (documented);
- international collaborations (documented);
- interest in contributing to the research on faculty and university level;
- capable of and committed to acquiring third-party funding for research and teaching projects, and
documented formats and concepts for academic communication and transfer.
Applicants must have completed their doctorate in a relevant field and either hold Habilitation or an equivalent qualification.
The conditions of employment are in accordance with § 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz NRW, HSG NRW).
